LAS VEGAS – The Opportunity Boulevard Job Fair – a career fair that actively attracts out-of-market jobseekers to Nevada jobs – will take place Wednesday, March 28, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at Green Valley Ranch Casino – located at 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway, just off Interstate 215 and Green Valley Parkway.
Las Vegas-based Recruiting Nevada, in partnership with The News, Greenspun Media Group, In Business Las Vegas, Nevada Broadcasters Association and AARP Nevada, has made it its goal to be the driving force in a serious effort to solve Nevada’s critical employment shortage.
“The efforts of all the partners involved have made our last two job fairs a success, and we’re looking forward to attracting even more people to our next fair March 28,” said Doug Geinzer, founder and president of Recruiting Nevada.
Total, the last two Opportunity Boulevard Job Fairs have attracted more than 3,400 jobseekers – nearly 600 of which came to Nevada from out-of-state – to learn about employment opportunities in Nevada.
“Everyone is working together to make this effort successful,” Geinzer said. “This isn’t just a partnership between a few companies that are sponsoring this event. All of the businesses that show their support through setting up a booth and talking with potential employees are just as integral in the effort to attract quality employees to Nevada jobs.”
Meant to reduce cannibalization of one another’s talent within Nevada, attract the right out-of-state people to fill open Nevada jobs and help trailing spouses and family members find jobs, the fairs will take place four times each year and will continue to target out-of-state professionals and older workers.
Marketed by Recruiting Nevada, which has attracted out-of-state employees to Nevada for the last 15 years, the last career fair (Jan. 18) attracted more than 2,200 jobseekers – nearly 450 in which came to Las Vegas from out-of-state.
The group will host four career fairs each year to attract quality professionals to Nevada jobs.
