Marketed by Las Vegas-based Recruiting Nevada, the career fair attracted professionals in much-needed career fields. In fact, out of the 1,012 pre-registered attendees, 112 health care professionals, educational professionals, 79 construction professionals, 61 engineering professionals, 283 accounting/financial professionals and 142 technology professionals attended the fair.

An additional more than 2,500 people who did not pre-register attended the fair as well.

“This is our largest turnout to date, and the numbers are only going to continue to rise as we continue to show out-of-state professionals what Las Vegas has to offer,” said Doug Geinzer, founder and president of Recruiting Nevada. “Despite recent reports that Southern Nevada’s growth is slowing down, the Las Vegas Valley is still more cost-effective and offers a much higher quality of life that many people, especially Southern Californians, are attracted to.”

Recruiting Nevada, in partnership with Greenspun Media Group, The News, In Business Las Vegas, Nevada Broadcasters Association and AARP-Nevada, has made it its goal to be the driving force in a serious effort to solve Nevada’s critical employment shortage.

Meant to reduce cannibalization of one another’s talent within Nevada, attract the right out-of-state people to fill open Nevada jobs, and help trailing spouses and family members find jobs, the fairs will continue to target out-of-state professionals and older workers.

The group hosts four career fairs each year to attract professionals to Nevada jobs. The next fair will take place Thursday, Nov. 15, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at Green Valley Ranch Resort – located at 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway, just off S. Green Valley Parkway and Interstate 215.
