LAS VEGAS – The next Opportunity Boulevard Career Fair, which actively attracts out-of-market jobseekers to Nevada jobs, will take place Thursday, Feb. 21, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at Green Valley Ranch Resort.
Las Vegas-based Recruiting Nevada, in partnership with The Home News, Greenspun Media Group, In Business Las Vegas, Nevada Broadcasters Association and AARP Nevada, has made it its goal to be the driving force in a serious effort to solve Nevada’s critical employment shortage.
“The efforts of all the partners involved have made every one of our job fairs to date a success, and we’re looking forward to attracting even more people to our next fair in February,” said Doug Geinzer, founder and president of Recruiting Nevada, which has attracted out-of-state employees to Nevada for the last 15 years.
Marketed by Recruiting Nevada, the group’s five career fairs in 2007 combined attracted more than 14,200 jobseekers – over 2,915 of which came to Nevada from out-of-state – to learn about employment opportunities in Nevada.
“Everyone is working together to make this effort a success,” Geinzer said. “This isn’t just a partnership between a few companies that are sponsoring these fairs. All of the businesses that show their support through setting up a booth, talking with potential employees and even hiring them, are just as important in the effort to recruit quality employees to Nevada jobs.”
Meant to reduce cannibalization of one another’s talent within Nevada, attract the right people to fill open Nevada jobs, and help trailing spouses and family members of those relocating to Nevada find jobs, the fairs will continue to target out-of-state professionals and older workers.
Registration for businesses to participate in the next career fair is open. For more information or to register for the next job fair, visit RecruitingNevada.com and click on the job fair link.
The February fair will take place in the Estancia Ballroom at Green Valley Ranch – located at 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway, just off Interstate 215 and Green Valley Parkway.
